This Week's Emotional Rollercoaster
- Emotional about the end of And Just Like That...

- Emotional about Taylor Swift's new album.
- Emotional about the Kennedy Center's future.
- And, yes, even a little emotional about Shrek.
My Life (Suddenly) Without Carrie Bradshaw
Okay, I'll admit it: I'm a little heartbroken. Finding out that Carrie Bradshaw, a character who's been a constant companion for so long, is stepping away feels… strange. Almost like a friend is moving across the country without saying goodbye.
Apparently, Sarah Jessica Parker and Michael Patrick King feel like they've reached a natural conclusion for Carrie's story. And hey, maybe they're right. But a part of me can't help but wonder, "What am I supposed to do now?"
I've spent a significant chunk of my adult life viewing New York City through the lens of Sex and the City. Carrie and her friends shaped my perception of this city, for better or worse. I found joy, frustration, and even a little bit of smugness thanks to them. (Anyone else used to yell at the TV about their dating woes? "You're in your *thirties*!")

I know opinions are divided on And Just Like That..., but I personally appreciated seeing how the characters evolved. What did dating and life look like for Carrie and her friends after all those years? It was fascinating, even if it wasn't always perfect. Now that the Sex and the City universe seems to be officially over after 27 years, it's time to reflect.
And Just Like That... was messy, embarrassing, and sometimes infuriating. But maybe that's why it felt so real. Isn't getting older just a constant stream of those three adjectives?

Even with its flaws (RIP Che Diaz, though thank you for the clicks!), the show dared to explore what these characters might be like in today's world, instead of just relying on nostalgia and fan service. And that's something I can appreciate.
Let's be honest, our friends change as we get older. They evolve, sometimes in unexpected ways. The challenge is figuring out how to stay connected and supportive as everyone navigates their own unique journey. And in its own way, that's what And Just Like That... tried to capture.
Ultimately, I'm grateful for Carrie Bradshaw and Sarah Jessica Parker's portrayal of her. SJP brought a groundedness to the character that made her relatable, even amidst all the glamour and fabulous shoes.

Carrie was a mess, made questionable choices, and was sometimes delusional. But she was also aspirational, relatable, and a damn good friend. She channeled our inner monologues, those questions we have about life and love that don't always have easy answers.
So, goodbye Carrie. Thanks for the memories, the fashion inspiration, and the countless "I couldn't help but wonder..." moments.
You Can Jive, Having the Time of Your Life!
Sometimes, you just need a dose of pure, unadulterated joy. And for me, that comes in the form of Mamma Mia!. This week, I saw it on Broadway, and let me tell you, it was a spiritual experience.
Yes, I'm serious. Mamma Mia! is the ultimate feel-good show. Need a pick-me-up? Buy a ticket and prepare to lose your mind while a bunch of talented performers belt out ABBA's greatest hits.

The world can be a tough place, but for a few hours, you can escape to a Greek island and sing along to "Dancing Queen." What's not to love?
The True Life of a Showgirl (According to Memes)
Speaking of joy, I'm loving all the The Life of a Showgirl memes inspired by Taylor Swift's upcoming album. Who knew there were so many pop culture references waiting to be turned into showgirl memes?
But the best part is that the album announcement brought back that brilliant Showgirls parody by Kate Berlant and John Early. It's an exact replica of the iconic dance rehearsal scene, and it's pure comedic genius.
The Kennedy Center: A Sad State of Affairs?
Okay, this is a bit of a downer, but I'm worried about the future of the Kennedy Center Honors. It used to be such a prestigious event, celebrating artists who shaped our culture. Now, it seems like things are heading in a different direction.

Growing up near the Kennedy Center, it held a special place in my heart. It's disheartening to see its mission and values being compromised.
Is Shrek 5 Delayed? Oh No!
Is *Shrek 5* delayed? *Shrek* is one of those franchises that should keep pumping out films for years to come!
