Piers Morgan Accidentally Trolls Trump Before Putin Summit!
In a surprising turn of events, British broadcaster Piers Morgan found himself in a bit of an online pickle. He attempted to wish former President Donald Trump well before his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but it seems his tweet didn't quite land as intended!
Morgan, known for his outspoken opinions and sometimes controversial takes, posted on X (formerly Twitter) praising Trump as someone who "genuinely prefers peace to war." A noble sentiment, right? However, the image he chose to accompany the message sparked quite the reaction.

The image, it turned out, was a doctored photograph! It featured Trump waving from Air Force One, but with a rather conspicuous addition: bright red kneepads. Ouch! It was created by the X user @PaulleyTicks. Apparently, Morgan didn't immediately notice the alteration.
Social media, as you can imagine, had a field day. Many users quickly pointed out the humorous (and perhaps slightly pointed) nature of the image.
Realizing his mistake, Morgan swiftly deleted the original post. He then explained in a follow-up tweet that he'd missed the Photoshopped kneepads initially. He reposted his original message, this time using a more conventional photo sourced from Fox News.
"I saw the pic on my feed and mistakenly believed it was a live one, and didn’t spot the mocked up kneepads," Morgan tweeted. "I couldn’t understand why so many people were laughing and raging about it. Then I realised, deleted it and reposted with another pic. My words remained the same…"
Meanwhile, the highly anticipated meeting between President Trump and President Putin took place at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska. This marks their first in-person meeting since the Russia-Ukraine conflict began. Trump has previously stated his desire to quickly resolve the conflict. On the flight to Alaska, Trump said he "would not be happy" if Putin didn't agree to end hostilities.

The meeting included a military flyover, a walk on the red carpet, and a private ride in "The Beast".
Ultimately, the Piers Morgan incident serves as a reminder that even seasoned social media users can occasionally fall victim to online pranks. And in the fast-paced world of news and politics, a little humor can sometimes be found in the most unexpected places!
