The Political Pot is Stirring: Newsom vs. Rogan
It seems there's a bit of a kerfuffle brewing between California Governor Gavin Newsom and popular podcaster Joe Rogan. The two have been exchanging words, and things are getting a little spicy! It all started when Rogan shared his thoughts on Newsom and California's political landscape on his widely listened-to podcast.
Rogan, known for his candid opinions and often controversial takes, didn't hold back, suggesting that Newsom had "ruined" California and harbors strong presidential ambitions. He further critiqued Newsom's leadership style, stating, "He’s a good bulls—t artist." Ouch!
Newsom's Rebuttal: From Twitter to Podcasts
Governor Newsom didn't take these criticisms lying down. He initially responded on X (formerly Twitter), accusing Rogan of being "too chicken" to have him on his podcast and allow his audience to hear "the truth." He followed up by highlighting positive statistics regarding California's economic success.

Newsom didn't stop there. He later appeared on the "Higher Learning" podcast, reiterating his challenge to Rogan. He suggested that Rogan’s show is a one-way street, allowing guests to criticize him without offering him an opportunity to respond directly. "It’s a one-way and he has guests coming on, attacking and bashing, but he won’t have me on the show. Full stop," Newsom stated.
A "Snack-Sized" Podcaster? The Rhetoric Escalates
The war of words took a particularly interesting turn when the Governor Newsom Press Office's X account posted an all-caps message directed at Rogan. In what some might consider a Trump-esque move, the post called Rogan a "SNACK-SIZED PODCASTER" who is "OBSESSED" with Newsom but "TOO SCARED" to have him on the show. The post was signed with Newsom's initials, adding a personal touch to the digital volley.
The post continued, "JUST LIKE DOZY DON HE OFTEN ‘CHICKENS OUT.’ I’VE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE GUY AND WISH THE MINI HOST THE BEST IN LIFE! I’LL COME ON AND WILL HELP SAVE THE SHOW AND ITS PLUMMETING RATINGS! — GCN"

Why All the Fuss? Understanding the Underlying Issues
So, what's fueling this feud? Rogan has been a vocal critic of Newsom's policies, particularly regarding vaccine mandates and the perceived decline of California. He's also pointed to issues like homelessness and unemployment as evidence of Newsom's shortcomings. Rogan has built a huge audience by discussing current events and hot topics like these.
Newsom, on the other hand, seems determined to defend his record and challenge Rogan's narrative. He believes Rogan is unfairly targeting California and is unwilling to engage in a fair and balanced discussion. Whether Newsom will be invited onto the Joe Rogan Experience remains to be seen.
What's Next for Newsom and Rogan?
Will Joe Rogan extend an olive branch and invite Gavin Newsom onto his podcast? Will the Governor continue to engage from afar? This political showdown is sure to keep us entertained. Stay tuned for more updates as this story develops!
