Laura Loomer Claims "Personal" Victory in Halting Visas for Palestinians from Gaza

Controversial far-right activist Laura Loomer is making headlines again, this time for claiming she single-handedly influenced a recent State Department decision. Loomer is taking credit for the temporary pause on visitor visas for Palestinians from Gaza, boasting about her alleged role on social media.

In a social media post, Loomer wrote, "Today I saved so many American citizens from being killed by pro-HAMAS jihadis. God only knows how many lives I personally saved today by blowing the whistle on rogue actors at State Department giving visas to Gazan families."

This claim follows the State Department's announcement that it would temporarily halt visitor visas for individuals from Gaza while conducting a "full and thorough review" of the process for issuing medical-humanitarian visas.

What Triggered This? Loomer had recently reposted videos from the medical charity Heal Gaza, reportedly showing injured children from Gaza arriving in the U.S. for medical treatment. She questioned why these individuals were being allowed into the country.

Loomer posted a series of critical statements regarding the visa process. “Why are any Islamic invaders coming into the US under the Trump admin?" she wrote, also questioning who approved the visas.

Loomer's Influence and Connections

Despite not holding an official government position, Loomer's influence within certain political circles, particularly with the Trump administration, has been a topic of discussion. Some reports suggest her lobbying efforts have played a role in shaping policy decisions. It is rumored that President Trump values her opinions and she's influenced over a dozen government terminations/resignations.

President Trump has previously praised Loomer, calling her "a fantastic woman, a true patriot" and acknowledging that he considers her policy recommendations.

In response to the State Department's policy shift, Loomer posted "It’s amazing how fast we can get results from the Trump administration."

The Humanitarian Aspect and Counter-Arguments

The New York Times reported that Loomer claims to have directly contacted Secretary of State Marco Rubio to express her concerns regarding the visa program. Meanwhile, Heal Gaza, the organization that shared the videos, describes itself as a non-political, non-profit focused on providing medical assistance to those affected by conflict in Gaza. They say they've evacuated over 50 children for much needed medical treatment.

The organization states that it relies on private donations and not taxpayer funds. Loomer, however, alleges that such efforts are a means to "facilitate chain migration."

She argued that some individuals want to "invade our country and bring HAMAS supporters to our country under the guise of 'humanitarianism'."

Visitor Visas for Medical Treatment

The U.S. has reportedly issued approximately 3,800 B1/B2 visitor visas to individuals with Palestinian Authority travel documents for the purpose of receiving medical treatment.

This story raises questions about the balance between national security concerns, humanitarian aid, and the influence of individuals on government policy. We will continue to follow this developing situation.
